During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the land of Guichuan was brimming over with Dragon Boat Festival customs, bringing so much delight to many tourists that they were reluctant to leave. According to statistics of the County Tourism Committee, during the three days from June 10 to 12, the county received a total of 328,600 tourist-trips and achieved 25.4263 million yuan in tourism revenue, with a year-on-year increase of 11.01% and 22.3% respectively. 

    As one of the main venues of the Fifth Beijing Dragon Boat Cultural Festival People Joy Season, the county further enriched the content of Dragon Boat Festival cultural activities this year, innovated the forms of activities and with “Guichuan Love • Chinese Dream - Yanqing for leisure, colorful Dragon Boat Festival" as the theme, launched four sections and twelve cultural events to attract participation of many residents and tourists.

    As classic retained items of the Dragon Boat Cultural Festival, this year's intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and performances, dragon boat races and other traditional activities were continuously innovated. The geographic scope of intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and performances was expanded and traditional intangible cultural heritages from Zigui and Huangshi of Hubei, Suzhou of Jiangsu and Yanqing were invited to the same stage; Dragon Boat Races saw the most extensive participation in recent years as an exciting fight between dragon boat teams from four places in three provinces, a friendly dragon boat race between dragon boats from Beijing and Tianjin, the mass participation dragon boat race of Yanqing and the Third Beijing University Dragon Boat Racing Championship were excitingly staged. The international student dragon boat team add international color to the cultural festival.

    In addition to the main venue, various scenic areas also launched classic cultural activities with Dragon Boat Festival characteristics in connection with the Dragon Boat Festival. The Badaling Great Wall scenic area held the “Sing the Ancient Rhyme of Li Sao, Express Patriotic Feelings” Fifth Beijing Dragon Boat Cultural Festival Youth Poetry Contest and the “Dance With nature, Lead a Harmonious Life” Tai Chi performance, attracting many tourists. The fifteenth generation Tai Chi inheritor of the Wu Dang SanFeng Sect Wang Mingshan was invited to the Tai Chi performance to “take the lead” to achieve a perfect combination of the Tai Chi Taoism culture and the Dragon Boat Festival culture, which has become a new highlight of the county’s Dragon Boat Festival cultural activities. 

    In addition, the County also launched "Gather in a Rural Inn, the 100-Meter Gallery Welcomes Guests”, “Tour the Yudu Mountain, Taste Soft Bean Curd”, “Watch Performances by Farmers”, “Climb the Lianhua Mountain, Tour the Wanglongxia Gorge, Do Exciting Square Dances” and other special events. During the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the county received a total of 181,700 tourist-trips and achieved 12.0457 million yuan in tourism revenue, a year-on-year increase of 10.12% and 18.46% respectively.
